Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau issued regulations for the 2026 World Team Squash Championships & China Open wildcard qualifier, to be held Aug 29-31 at the National Squash Training Base in Chengdu.

The Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau recently issued the Competition Regulations for the 2026 World Team Squash Championships and China Open Wildcard Qualifier. To prepare for the 2026 World Team Squash Championships and the China Open, the national squash team will hold this qualifier from August 29 to 31, 2026, at the National Squash Training Base in Shuangliu District, Chengdu.
The qualifier features men's and women's singles, divided into adult and youth groups (born on or after August 31, 2007). Eligibility includes: official athletes of the national squash team for the 2026 Nagoya-Aichi Asian Games, current national team men's and women's players, champions of the 2026 National Youth Squash Championships in boys' U19, U17, U15 and girls' U19, U17, U15, as well as recommended slots from the national team committee.
The competition adopts a round-robin format (best of five games). Scoring rules: 1 point for a win, 0 for a loss or withdrawal. In case of ties, head-to-head results are considered; for three or more tied players, the net games won and then net points among involved players are compared, with drawing of lots as the final tiebreaker. Unjustified withdrawal results in zero points for the round-robin; injury withdrawal requires written confirmation from the medical team. Participants bear all costs. Athletes must attend pre-competition training, submit a medical examination report (including ECG and blood routine, valid within six months) from a hospital of level 2 or above at registration, and purchase personal accident and medical insurance covering the entire schedule. Youth athletes under U19 must wear protective goggles meeting World Squash Federation requirements.
