On August 23, the 2026 National Squash Level 3 Referee Training (8th session) was successfully held in Chengdu. The training was hosted by the Small Ball Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, operated by Digital Heartbeat (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., and undertaken by Chengdu Tongyu Sports Technology Co., Ltd. The trainees were mainly from the Sichuan-Chongqing region, including squash coaches, parents of junior players, and university physical education teachers.

The two-day training was strictly implemented in accordance with the "China Squash Level 3 Referee Teaching Syllabus and Examination Methods (Trial)", with Wang Lei and He Xing as instructors. The curriculum covered squash rules and terminology, competition discipline, and referee systems, combining theoretical teaching with on-site practice. Special training was conducted on key aspects such as referee commands, scoring procedures, and on-site handling, helping trainees consolidate their professional foundation and improve practical refereeing skills.

The assessment consisted of three parts: a written theory test, video case analysis, and simulated on-site refereeing, which respectively tested trainees' knowledge mastery, situational judgment, and practical operation skills. After passing all assessments and meeting the required internship requirements, trainees can obtain the squash level 3 referee certificate issued by the Small Ball Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China. The referee team is the cornerstone of the standardized operation of squash events. Regular level 3 referee training can not only improve the talent pipeline for squash but also directly enhance the refereeing level of grassroots events. The training held in Chengdu provided systematic learning and practical exercise opportunities for squash referees in the Sichuan-Chongqing region, effectively strengthening the regional grassroots refereeing force.
